MORE TALES FROM THE YARD
by James R. Palmer
Description
The life of a Correctional Officer is not always the same day after day. We never know what is on the minds of the inmates. Is it going to calm and quiet? Or is this the day they riot because they are bored or a change is coming? Life in prison is not easy for either Officers or inmates. Learn how the inmates learn to adapt and get along when different egos and cultures are thrown together. How they pass their time every day when nothing changes. Life is not all quiet and peaceful and solitary confinement taxes one’s mental health. How do they pass their time with each other. The staff are outnumbered greatly and reinforcements are not always close at hand. Humor on both sides helps everyone to get along without compromising security or familiarity. But when things go south, both sides know which one they are on. This is the life each has chosen and both sides know that life goes on and that at the end of the day one side is going home. After all it’s the life both sides have chosen.
