The Circle
by Lourie Thompson
Description
Sallie Dunn was a very intelligent woman who thought she married the man of her dreams. James Dunn was smart, wealthy and maybe the worst mistake she would ever make. Sallie's fairytale marriage didn't last long and her life became a life of hell. Sallie was a modern day slave to James. Sallie found herself being held hostage in the ungodly thing they called a marriage. She often prayed and asked God to intervene and one day he did. He delivered a lifeline in the form of a loud ghetto doctor named Jersey and her quiet but fearless daughter Denise. They would befriend Sallie and ultimately save her life. Jersey and Denise become Sallie's line to the outside world whatever she needed they would deliver. They would even help Sallie plan her getaway from James and on that fateful night things go terribly wrong. Unplanned circumstances causes Sallie and Denise to have to split up from Jersey, now they were on their own. Denise and Sallie start their new lives by helping other women leave the same life Sallie left behind. In the process of helping others they meet four extraordinary women who help them form 'The Circle'. The Circle would be an outlet for the battered and bruised women whose voice had been taken away. The Circle would work tirelessly to make sure that these women were not just existing but living. Over the years The Circle grows and the ladies introduce a younger, fresher, generation of circle women, their daughters. Their daughters bring on a different set of problems and more modern day drama. Sallie and the women spend their time serving others even in the midst of their own lives unraveling. As secrets are revealed and past issues resurface will their love be enough to hold them together? See you in "The Circle."
